PROMISES ARE CHEAP; HONOR IS PRICELESS

The lost art of honoring a promise seems to be blowing in the wind. I will do it. I promise unless a gust of wind blows it out of my mind of commitment. Oh, how human nature seeks to receive a promise, how human nature tries to give a promise. Honor, honoring self, honoring knowledge, and honoring a promise, are attributes that have become diluted by the conflicted mind. Do we not live in a world filled with human promises? Do we not live in a world where politicians issue promises? Do we not live in a world where parents issue promises to their children? How many of these promises are fulfilled? In reality, how many honor their promises?
How many children of the past, now adults, issue promises they honor not? Perhaps honor has become the lost art of human dignity. Socrates once said, “The shortest and surest way to live with honor in the world is to be, in reality, what we would appear to be.”
The human spirit is capable of such honor, yet such corruption. The human spirit can create such beautiful, inspiring art and loving healing hands, yet the human spirit can also create rubbish that even animals would refuse to reside. Are we what we appear to be?
I asked my teacher once, “What is honor?”
His simple reply. “Honor is the foundation of integrity; integrity is the foundation of honor.”
Words? Yes, but words that carry the energy of intelligence. How many walk through life feeling intelligent? How many walk through life feeling integrity? How many walk through life feeling honor? How many feel this when no one is looking? It has been said to me, “Hossca, you have too high expectations of people.”
My answer was, “No, you have too low an expectation of people.” Perhaps that is what keeps pain in one’s comfort zone of closeted beliefs? Does that keep one feeling secure? Does that endorse one’s conviction in survival?
Promises are cheap. Honor is priceless. How many broken promises does one carry in their lifetime, a few, hundreds, or perhaps hundreds of thousands? How does that reflect on the human spirit? How does that reflect on one’s journey seeking real friendships? Perhaps honor is priceless because of its rarity. What type of world would we live in if honor and integrity were a bonded part of the human consciousness? What if every child on earth from birth to three was taught the intrinsic value of honor and integrity? What type of world would exist in thirty, fifty, or seventy years henceforth? You and I both know that is wishful dreaming – or is it?
If you dream, dream big because the conflicted mind often ignores the small dreams.
The energy of consciousness, the energy of the human mind and brain, translates into words. Words are energy. The tonality (quality of tone) of the words is critical in communicating. It is not merely what words are used, but the tonality of the word or words? Three simple words I love you, stated in an irritated voice, do not convey I love you. For ones to state, I will use honor and integrity. I will honor my promises, stated in a vacant tone does not convey the meaning of honesty and integrity. Instead, the energy expressed is the same energy of not honoring the person or a promise.
The word energy can be a very subjective word. Words, the tonality of words, are they a form of energy? Can the correct tonality of words be used to energize one? Can a loving, passionate speech stimulate one into action? Can one energize them using proper tonality of words? Can one be so excited by their tonality of words; they develop the character of honor and integrity?
Are honor and integrity an energetic form of higher consciousness? Is living in the tonality of honesty and integrity a pathway to an expanded consciousness, beyond the rubbish of humans crawling over each other seeking survival?
What would it be like if everything you did; you did with the passion of honor and integrity? What if every promise you make, including the promises to yourself, be filled with honor and integrity? What if the words you use to create your dream are filled with tonality from the heart?
Some of my students have come to me stating they are having difficulties learning or seeking to comprehend the essence and philosophy of Tai Yi. A healing modality, so ancient the current human brain consciousness has difficulties with comprehension. I tell them when you seek to learn with honor and integrity; the ancient comprehension center of the human brain begins to unfold within the ancient brain of a human, a mind not caught up in humans crawling over each other seeking survival. I am referring to the ancient evolved humans, not Neanderthals or Denisovans.
The ancient learning center of human consciousness is passed down from generation to generation of humans. Some use it. Some do not. Perhaps humans of the past created the Klerksdorp Spheres of South Africa, Ica Stones, the Antikythera Mechanism, Baghdad Battery, Ancient Model Aircraft, and Giant Stone Balls of Costa Rica. Or for a brain bender, the fossil of a human handprint estimated to be 110 million years old, or a human footprint possibly wearing a sandal, found near Delta, Utah in a shale deposit estimated to be 300 to 600 million years old. My favorite is the Dropa Stones of China. Are there ones who understand the nature of these ancient artifacts? Some deny their existence and go to the extent of using ridicule to prevent ones from accepting them, learning from them. Why? Why would it matter to them if someone believed in these artifacts? Why would they become angry you might not accept their belief? Perhaps the difference is some activate the ancient part of the human mind, and some use the ancient part of the human brain. Maybe this is why some humans can create and express deep love beauty in art, song, and the written word, and some humans create and live in the sewer of human corruption. Some state, the human mind and the human brain are the same. What if the ancient brain is in denial of the human mind?
Could some use ridicule to suppress the ancient human mind that the ancient human brain fears or vice versa?
If one were to accept the ancient human mind’s philosophy, how could they go about using it? Would one need to live by the principles of the ancient human mind? Could it be so simple as a choice and the power of choice to reject the ancient human brain’s social conditioning? Perhaps the brain is wired to seek survival at all costs. Animalistic nature? Maybe the ancient brain is wired to the Neanderthals or Denisovans, whose main goal in life was to survive. What if Neanderthals and Homo sapiens’ missing link is the Neanderthals did not have access to the ancient human mind? What if the missing link is not a link because they are an entirely separate species?
Honor and integrity are perhaps a key to accessing the ancient human mind. Perhaps by accessing the ancient human mind, one develops the ability to understand ancient teachings on where humans came into existence. Perhaps as my Chinese teacher taught me, “Ones need to know where they came from to know where they are going.”
Why? Because knowing where they came from helps one understand who they are. If one lives in the sewer of human corruption and does not access the ancient human mind, the ancient human brain creates the sewer of human corruption.
Promises are cheap, and honor is priceless. If one wants to become one who honors their promises, including their promise to themselves, use honor, use integrity and perhaps watch the ancient mind begin to open to the many possibilities that exist in life. How many difficulties do you have in life? Do you have money difficulties, health difficulties, or relationship difficulties? Do you believe you deserve these difficulties? What if that belief comes from the ancient brain? Do you think you created these difficulties so someone will take care of you, perhaps a friend, relative, guide, or God? Does your belief system support the ancient brain, or does your ancient mind support your knowledge of what you deserve? Perhaps the most sensitive question of all is whether your spirituality supports the ancient brain of spiritual traditions that pain brings you closer to God, or does your spirituality come from the ancient mind? In this blog, it is not my purpose to state one is right or one wrong. It is all a choice. If the pain continues with the ancient brain, try the ancient mind.
Perhaps try with integrity and honor to yourself.
Maybe there you will find relief from pain.
